Pipli Applique Lord Jagannath Wall Hanging (Maroon): 3×3 Feet of Odisha’s Heritage
Overview
Pipli applique is one of Odisha’s most loved folk crafts, known for vibrant colours, layered fabric patchwork, and detailed stitching. This 3×3 feet wall hanging shows the tradition beautifully, with Lord Jagannath at the centre surrounded by sparkling patterns. The deep maroon base gives it a royal, devotional look that suits both traditional and modern homes.
Lord Jagannath Centrepiece
The expressive red, black, and white face of Lord Jagannath sits at the heart of a lotus-petal mandala. The petals are decorated with colourful fabric pieces in blue, orange, green, pink, and yellow, with round mirror accents that catch the light. Many devotees see this design as auspicious and place it at home to invite peace and positivity.
Rich Detailing and Mirror Work
Fine white thread embroidery forms flowing vines, while blue, pink, and green flowers decorate the circular border. Green leaf motifs fill the four corners, and small mirrors add sparkle throughout.
Bold Colour Combination
The deep maroon background makes the yellow, blue, green, and red details stand out. The bright yellow zig-zag border adds a festive, finished look.
Compact 3×3 Feet Size
At 3 x 3 feet, this piece is large enough to be a focal point yet easy to fit on a pooja room wall, above a sofa, or at an entrance. It also works well as a backdrop or altar spread for festivals and Rath Yatra celebrations.
Wall Hanging, Backdrop, or Gift
Use it as a wall hanging, a pooja backdrop, or a decorative spread. It is a meaningful gift for housewarmings, weddings, festivals, and corporate gifting.
